Wisconsin LGBT Chamber of Commerce: NGLCC honors Wisconsin LGBT Chamber of Commerce with National Chamber Excellence in Community Impact Award

Milwaukee, Wis. – The Wisconsin LGBT Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce that the chamber will be honored for excellence in community impact two weeks from today at the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC)’s 2013 National B; usiness & Leadership Conference in Dallas, Texas.

“This award is a testament to our work in engaging leaders and organizations around the state as we build Wisconsin’s LGBT business community,” said Jason Rae, the Wisconsin LGBT Chamber of Commerce’s Executive Director. “As a statewide chamber, we understand the importance of collaboration with organizations all across Wisconsin, and the fact that we were able to earn this award within our first year of formation is an enormous honor.”

NGLCC recognized the Wisconsin LGBT Chamber of Commerce for nurturing strong relationships with local city chambers and business districts, as well as engaging with the Coalition for Ethnical Diverse Chambers of Commerce in Milwaukee. The Chamber has built strong partnerships with philanthropic groups, such as the Cream City Foundation., The Wisconsin LGBT Chamber of Commerce has also been invited to and attended meetings with a group of executives from major corporations in southeast Wisconsin who are working on how to best implement inclusive workplace policies. By building coalitions within Wisconsin, they have rejuvenated the LGBT business community.

“NGLCC affiliate chambers like the Wisconsin LGBT Chamber of Commerce are leveraging every possible opportunity for businesses to grow and become strong engines that drive local economies,” said Sam McClure, NGLCC Director of Affiliate Relations and External Affairs. “This new chamber came out of the gate very strong and we are very glad to be their national partner.”
