Company to invest $7.9 million to allow for future growth

MADISON, Wis. May 23, 2013 – WS Packaging, Algoma, Wis., is investing more than $7.9 million to expand its operation as part of a company-wide planning process. The three-year expansion included new equipment and building upgrades to expand production and enhance quality and efficiency.

The company is eligible for up to $300,000 in tax credits through the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) to assist in the expansion, which is expected to retain 45 positions and create 20 new full-time positions at this location.

“We are pleased to assist WS Packaging in their investment to improve their operations and eventually provide new job opportunities in the community,” said Reed E. Hall, secretary and chief executive office of WEDC. “We welcome the decision by WS Packaging to maintain its commitment to its Algoma facility.”

The job retention tax credits will be distributed annually in direct relation to the number of jobs retained and created over a three-year period.

WS Packaging Group was formed from the merger of WI Label Corp and Superior Label Systems. The company is headquartered in Green Bay, Wis., and is one of the top privately-owned label and tag manufacturers in North American with 19 locations and more than 1800 employees. The company provides diverse array of printing and packaging products such as pressure sensitive labels, coupon and folded booklets.
