MADISON—It’s been ten years since the Wisconsin Academy of Sciences, Arts & Letters issued its landmark Waters of Wisconsin recommendations on safeguarding the future of our aquatic ecosystems and resources. Join us for a provocative afternoon forum on April 9 from 12:00–4:00 pm in the UW Extension Pyle Center in Madison where water experts will discuss progress over the last decade and look at major trends and projections that will shape Wisconsin’s freshwater ecosystems and water resources over the next ten years, particularly in relation to climate, agriculture, and infrastructure issues.

Speakers include:

* Tim Bate, director of Planning, Research and Sustainability for the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District

* Pat Leavenworth, former state conservationist for the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Conservation Service

* John Magnuson, professor emeritus of zoology and director emeritus of the Center for Limnology, University of Wisconsin-Madison

* Curt Meine, conservation biologist, historian, and writer

* Paul Robbins, director, Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies, University of Wisconsin-Madison
