Online program focusing on conflict management skills, reduced stress among teachers debuts this week

June 6, 2013 Milwaukee, Wis. – An educational program called Emotional and Personal Safety in the Classroom, designed specifically to help educators manage conflict, reduce stress and increase teaching effectiveness is being launched this week by V-School.

Kathy Mangold, a content strategist and lead developer of the program said, “We are very excited about the impact this new program will have on keeping our kids safe. It has been in development since December 2012 and the initial feedback we’ve received has been fantastic.”

This online program has 11 modules, each of which includes audio recordings, transcriptions of those recordings and a workbook. With this program, educators will hear from a national team of consultants who are experts in the area of human conflict, having a combined experience of over three decades in this field. Topics covered include:

Becoming a more effective communicator while under stress

Building the physical and non-verbal qualities that are characteristics of confidence

Preventing violence in the classroom

The program, designed for all K-12 educators, is available for purchase at www.V-School.org.

V-School is division of the Vistelar Group (www.vistelar.com) and a community partner within the Medical College of Wisconsin Youth Violence Prevention Initiative, an $8.2 million grant-funded program to decrease rates of violence in Milwaukee, WI and strengthen Milwaukee’s capacity to prevent future violence.
