SnowShoe: Stamp Rocket brings simple task automation to Apple devices

Stamp Rocket: SnowShoe Stamps for Everyone.

New Product Launches Individual or Series of Tasks on iPhone, iPad or iPod by Touching a Plastic Stamp to Screen of Device.

Madison, WI – Thursday, February 21st, 2013 – Are the doors about to close on your flight? What if you could send an “about to take off” text message to your spouse, turn on your away message on e-mail, set an alarm to wake up before landing, and create a map to the hotel, all instantly with a single press of a small device to your iPhone?

A new product called Stamp Rocket allows you to quickly and easily automate every-day tasks like emails, text messages, and alarm clocks for anyone who owns an iPhone or other iOS device.

“Every iPhone user knows that you tend to do the same sequences of things on your phone almost every day,” said Claus Moberg, CEO of SnowShoe, the creator of Stamp Rocket. “Now you can program maps, music, mail, and more to be activated in sequence with a single click of this little device. This is a developer’s dream because it offers a unique, low-cost hardware authentication to trigger almost any behavior on an iPhone or iPad.”

The system is built around Stamp Rockets: small plastic stamps that interact with a smartphone’s touch screen. Using the Stamp Rocket iOS app, users can associate a specific stamp with a certain tedious task that they want to automate. Thereafter, the user can simply open the app, touch the StampRocket to their phone screen, and the app will execute the specific task or series of tasks in question.

Stamp Rockets can be configured to launch a wide range of actions, from sending an SMS to queuing up a specific iTunes playlist, opening another app, checking a location, sending an e-mail, loading a map, or making a call. Other available actions include posting to Twitter or Facebook, Foursquare Check-ins, and opening specific urls in Safari.

An open API and SDK is also available for developers wanting to build functionality that goes beyond that offered in the Stamp Rocket iOS app.

Starting today, Stamp Rocket starter packs of five stamps for $5 can be preordered at http://www.stamprocket.com, guaranteed to ship by March 31st . After March 31st, the price of starter packs will rise to $25. The StampRocket App is free and will be available on the iTunes app store.

Stamp Rocket is a product of SnowShoe, a Madison, Wisconsin-based company founded by four University of Wisconsin-Madison students in the fall of 2011. The SnowShoe development team was the winner of the 2012 TechCrunch DisruptSF Hackathon for a product that operated common door locks on an iPhone via the StampRocket device.
