Rogers Behavioral Health System, ProHealth Care: Joining forces to improve outcomes for Wisconsin patients

(Oconomowoc, Wis.) ProHealth Care and Rogers Behavioral Health System announced today a behavioral health collaboration that will lead to greater coordination of care and better outcomes for patients.

Under the agreement, Rogers will manage the 22-bed inpatient psychiatric unit and adult mental health partial hospital program at Waukesha Memorial Hospital. ProHealth will continue to employ the staff for the programs. In addition, two psychiatrists hired by Rogers will provide psychiatric care and consultation for all inpatients at ProHealth’s Waukesha Memorial and Oconomowoc Memorial hospitals who need behavioral health in addition to medical care. The three-year agreement became effective Aug. 1, with full implementation expected later this fall.

“We have talked with Rogers over the years regarding how we can collaborate and best leverage the strengths of each of our systems, theirs in behavioral health and ours in medical care,” said John Robertstad, president of ProHealth Care’s hospital division. “Our goal is to increase patient access to behavioral health services throughout the medical continuum of care. As a result, we foresee less duplication of services and long-term, improved outcomes for behavioral health patients.”

Bill Henricks, CEO of Rogers Partners in Behavioral Health, the consulting entity that negotiated and will manage the agreement, said: “Behavioral health is what we know. We’re excited to provide our focused management expertise and the knowledge that we’ve gained through our commitment to quality behavioral health care in Wisconsin and beyond. With this agreement, our services complement one another for the benefit of patients in southeastern Wisconsin.”
