Radisson Paper Valley Hotel: Hires new area director of sales and marketing

APPLETON, WIS. (Feb. 19, 2013) – The Radisson Paper Valley Hotel has hired Linda M. Garvey as its new Area Director of Sales and Marketing.

In her new role, Garvey is responsible for catering and group event sales, corporate travel program sales and the marketing of hotel restaurants, bars and convention space at the Radisson Paper Valley, as well as oversight of sales and marketing operations for the Holiday Inn Neenah Riverwalk and Country Inn & Suites in Appleton.

A Neenah native, Garvey brings 25 years of collective experience in hotel operations and sales to the position. Prior to joining the Radisson Paper Valley team, Garvey worked for Tharaldson Lodging, a Fargo, North Dakota-based hotel franchise company for 12 years. Throughout her tenure with the company, Garvey was responsible for top-line revenue, oversight of 50 hotels in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic region, as well as successful openings for 49 new hotels for the franchise.

In addition to her years of sales and management experience, Garvey holds a Certified Sales Trainer designation from Marriott International.

Garvey notes that her return to the Fox Cities has brought her experience in the hotel and hospitality industry full circle, as she first began her career at age 16 as a hostess at the Valley Inn in Neenah.

“It was an easy decision to leave a regional position to come home to the hotel and this area, which has always held a special place in my heart,” Garvey said. “It is also very exciting for me to work with such an experienced team and successful hotel group.”
