PwC Milwaukee Donates $25,000 to Junior Achievement of Wisconsin

Donation to support financial literacy skills program “JA Finance Park”

MILWAUKEE, Wis., December 19, 2013 –
PwC US
announced today that its Milwaukee office donated $25,000 to Junior Achievement of Wisconsin (JA), funded through a grant from the
PwC Charitable Foundation
.

The funding will support JA Finance Park, a financial literacy-focused program simulation launched in 2011 that engages eighth grade students in personal budget experiences. Volunteers mentor the students through the budgeting process while helping them make the connection between financial literacy and future success in work and life.

When asked about the contribution, Tim Greinert, President of Junior Achievement of Wisconsin, said, “Junior Achievement is thrilled to work with PwC Milwaukee to bring this exciting new financial literacy program to our local students. Through their financial and volunteer commitment, PwC Milwaukee is helping Junior Achievement provide our young people with the skills and confidence to make good academic and economic decisions about their future.”

PwC Milwaukee has a longstanding relationship with JA and partners and staff have participated in JA Days for several years. PwC professionals will begin volunteering at Finance Park simulation days in the spring of 2014.

“We at PwC Milwaukee believe that it is a vital part of our role as business leaders to lend both our time and monetary support to organizations that are striving to develop crucial programs to enrich our youth with new learning initiatives,” said Ray Wilson, managing partner of PwC’s Milwaukee office. “I’d like to thank our PwC Milwaukee professionals and Junior Achievement of Wisconsin for actively working to make a difference in our community, while helping local children reach their full potential as productive, accountable, caring and well-rounded citizens.”

The donation demonstrates PwC’s commitment to giving back to the communities in which its people live and work, as well as its market and firmwide focus on financial literacy.
