GMCVB: Greater Madison Convention & Visitors Bureau attains national accreditation

(MADISON) The Greater Madison Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB) is pleased to announce it has been awarded certification through 2017 from the Destination Marketing Accreditation Program (DMAP). Based in Washington, DC, Destination Marketing Association International (DMAI) developed the accreditation program to acknowledge destination management organizations that have achieved a significant measure of excellence amongst rigorous industry standards. GMCVB has been accredited by DMAI since the program began in 2008.

“We are honored to once again receive this prestigious designation from our peers,” said Deb Archer, President and CEO of the GMCVB. “The entire GMCVB staff and its board leadership are committed to creating memorable experiences for each and every visitor to our area. “The Greater Madison Convention & Visitors Bureau will maintain its standing in an elite group of DMOs having met the rigorous standards of industry accreditation,” says Shelly Green, DMAP board chair. The GMCVB is one of an elite group of convention and visitor bureaus in the world to earn this accreditation which covers a wide variety of topics including governance, finance, management, human resources, technology, visitor’s services, sales, communications, partnership, brand management, destination development, research/market intelligence, innovation and stakeholder relationships.

The GMCVB is honored to play a key role in supporting the more than 19,000 Dane County jobs supported by tourism. Promoting tourism in Madison since 1972, the GMCVB continues to work strategically to expand upon the more than $1.7 billion dollars generated by visitor spending in Dane County every year.
