Wisconsin Dells, WI – The hottest driver in the Midwest continued his domination Saturday night at Dells Raceway Park in the Cabin Fever 100. Travis Sauter charged to the point of the Super Late Model feature on lap forty-five and never looked back. Austin Nason cruised to the fifty lap Late Model win while Mike Winters won the Sportsmen thirty lap main event. Steven Rozek continued his winning ways in the twenty lap Bandit feature.

Jeremy Miller rallied past early leader Andrew Morrisey to assume the lead of the twenty-five car field on lap twenty-five. Miller built a five car length advantage over Morrisey by the time Travis Sauter and Jeff Storm thundered ahead of Morrisey. Miller’s lead quickly evaporated as Sauter pushed his machine to Miller’s bumper. Miller held the bottom and made Sauter work the high line, but in just five laps, the new leader was Sauter and he’d never look back.

Sauter was challenged with frequent cautions which allowed the field to bunch up double file behind him. Challenges were mounted by Jeff Storm, Jeremy Miller and Dalton Zehr. Zehr worked through the field from his tenth starting spot to provide Sauter and the crowd with all the excitement they could handle. Zehr’s machine was clearly fast through the corners, but Sauter was able to hold off Zehr’s many charges. Over the last fifteen laps and six cautions, Zehr could get to Sauter’s bumper, but no further. Jeff Storm held on for third ahead of Miller and fifth place finisher Steve Holzhausen.

Young Austin Nason of Roscoe, IL cruised to his first ever Dells Raceway Late Model feature win. Nason charged from his fourth row starting spot to battle early leader Corey Jankowski. Jankowski kept a strong hold of the low line, but Nason charged around the outside. Jankowski bottled-up the cars of Larry Schotten, Shayne Poehnelt and Rich Schumann. Once Nason got to the lead, it was easy sailing en route to Weaver Auto Parts victory lane. Jankowski held on to second ahead of Schumann, Jesse Bernhagen and Nick Nolden.

Mike Winters missed opening night, but has taken advantage of the last two weeks of sportsmen racing. This week, he ended the night victorious in the thirty lap main event. Winters used the high line to battle around traffic and start chopping in to the lead of Kevin Gelding. With a few laps remaining, Winters charged around Gelding and held on for his first win of season. Mitch Lyden piloted his Mustang to the third spot ahead of Rick Coppernoll and Doug Paul.

Steven Rozek continued his winning ways in the Bandit division with a last lap pass of Allison Pennel. It appeared as if Rozek wasn’t going to victory lane as Pennel held the low line and the lead for most of the race. But a last lap, last turn pass gave Rozek the win at the line ahead of Pennel. Arch Preston earned third ahead of Josh Bisbee and Ed Klug.

Racing continues Saturday night at Dells Raceway Park with the Late Models, Sportsmen, Pure Stocks, Bandits and Legend Cars.
