RICHFIELD, Wis., February 5, 2013 – DCI Cheese Company (“DCI”) is pleased to announce that its in-house design team was recently recognized with three 2013 American Package Design Awards from Graphic Design USA magazine. These awards recognize DCI for having some of the best designed and most innovative packaging and in-store promotional materials in the food and beverage industry.

For five decades, Graphic Design USA magazine has sponsored national competitions recognizing the country’s pre-eminent graphic designers. This year’s competition received 1,650 entries, placing DCI’s winning entries among the finest food and beverage designs produced over the last 24 months. DCI’s winning submissions include the redesigned packaging of its Salemville and Nikos lines and the Great Midwest brand’s “Summer of Flavor” promotional materials used in-store July–August, 2012.

“The specialty cheese case is packed with competition,” states Katie Jury, marketing manager at DCI. “Having an in-house team of designers with this magnitude of skill is a priceless asset to our brands and our customers. Our products pop out of the cooler case thanks to their award-winning graphics, helping to transition tentative buyers into repeat purchasers.”

About Salemville®
Salemville’s blue-veined cheeses are sustainably produced by an Amish community in Cambria, Wisconsin. Cows are hand-milked twice daily without the use of machines or electricity and milk is delivered to the factory in traditional 10-gallon milk cans. All Salemville cheeses are farmer-certified rBGH free, rich in calcium and contain no preservatives or chemical additives. The line includes a range of award-winning earthy flavors, each with rich, creamy textures and beautiful, consistent veining.

About Nikos®
Nikos® is an award-winning line of Mediterranean-style feta cheeses that are renowned for their soft, crumbly texture and strong, salty flavor. Nikos fetas crumble perfectly onto salads and, because they melt so beautifully, also work well in cooked dishes. Nikos® traditional, fat free and flavored feta cheeses are available in retailers nationwide in crumbled cups and exact weight bars.

About Great Midwest®
