Avenue HQ Coworking Community: Set to open in downtown Appleton with free week of coworking

Coworking and Innovation Space Seeks to Build Creative Culture in
Downtown Appleton by Bringing Together Independent Workers and Entrepreneurs

Appleton, WI – The Avenue HQ, Appleton’s first coworking space, is announcing a “FreeCoworking Week” the entire week of July 22 through 26. A partnership of the Appletonbased nonprofitIDEAco and Willems Marketing, The Avenue HQ aspires to provide a collaborative professional setting for freelancers, startups, small organizations, and location-independent professionals. The Avenue HQ will also be a regional hub for entrepreneurial events and creative culture development.

“Northeast Wisconsin is not lacking in innovators, disruptors, and entrepreneurial-minded professionals,” said Avenue HQ Community Manager and CoFounderMatthew Straub, “But the region is lacking in resources for those people. With this space we hope to help build a strong
entrepreneurial community and the resources to encourage its growth.”

“It’s about more than just workspace, too,” said Brett Schilke, director of IDEAco, “We are creating a place for collaboration, engagement, and fostering new ideas. It is an opportunity forour community to create the resources and the environment that attract and retain talent, energy,
and innovation.”

Located just off College Avenue on the first floor of the Willems Marketing building at 120 N. Morrison St., The Avenue HQ will be a shared space for work and collaboration, as well as a central location for entrepreneurial connections. It begins with members. As a coworking space,
members pay a monthly fee for access to highspeed Internet and a professional workspace. No longer will freelancers and remote workers need to work out of a café day in and day out, nor will they be in cubicles. The appeal of a coworking space is a lively community of likeminded
individuals. The Avenue HQ is freshly renovated to reflect its urban culture with glass, stained concrete, and workstations made from repurposed bowling lanes. It features four large private offices, an open area with both shared and reserved workstations, and a conference room available for both members and outside groups.

“By offering a week of access to The Avenue HQ completely free, we’re inviting the community to come in and not just see our space, but actually work from it and get a feel for whether coworking might be a good fit for them,” Straub said.

“The Avenue HQ is a welcome addition to Downtown Appleton’s healthy business mix and creative economy,” said Appleton Downtown, Inc. Executive Director Jennifer Stephany.“Coworking space is in demand and we are excited to introduce this unique and inspiring environment to entrepreneurs looking for a home in Downtown Appleton.”

Coworking provides economic and social benefits to its members and the community. According to a worldwide coworking survey, 92% of coworkers said their social circle has increased “a lot,” 80% reported growth in their business networks, and 75% reported an increase in productivity. Coworking spaces often play a pivotal role in the growth of the creative economy within any given city.
