Alliant Energy Foundation offers Community Service Scholarships

Eligible high school seniors in utility service area encouraged to apply

MADISON, Wis. – December 5, 2013 –For the 9th consecutive year, the Alliant Energy Foundation is offering high school seniors in its utility service area the opportunity to apply for one of 25 Community Service Scholarships.

The scholarships, worth $1,000 each, recognize outstanding community leadership in young people and help students reach their academic goals. Award selection is based on participation in a leadership role in community service activities and volunteer work; academic grade point average; standardized test scores; and the content of a 300-word essay submission.

Eligibility rules and online applications are available at alliantenergy.com/foundationscholarship. Applications are independently evaluated by Scholarship America and must be completed by February 17, 2014. Award notifications are made after April 1.
