MILWAUKEE – According to survey results released today, a majority of 65-plus American military veterans are in the dark on facts they need to know about the limits of their Veterans Affairs (VA) health benefits and Medicare coverage. Today’s alarming findings reveal that:

62 percent of veteran survey respondents did not know that they face late enroll 65 ment penalties should they delay Medicare enrollment;

63 percent of veterans surveyed were unaware they cannot use Medicare benefits (including Medicare supplement/Medigap, Medicare Advantage and Original Medicare benefits) to cover the costs of VA-provided medical services, or use VA benefits to cover Medicare services.
