Wisconsin Communities Benefit from the Use of Renewable Energy

The Wisconsin Energy Business Association (WEBA) delivered a report to legislators today outlining the economic benefits that renewable energy, including wind, solar, biogas, and biomass, has on Wisconsin’s private sector. The attached report highlights the ways that renewable energy has stimulated economic development across Wisconsin, as well as the potential for the future expansion of this vibrant industry.

“With over 12,000 Wisconsinites employed in the solar and wind supply chain alone, the economic benefits of this multi-billion dollar industry are undeniable,” said Brandon Naylor, president and owner of Unlimited Renewable Energies, a subsidiary of Tower Technologies LLC, in Prairie du Sac. “Unfortunately, because of regulatory uncertainty, like the status of the statewide wind siting rules, the growth of this industry has been hindered. It is time that we allow this sector to become a cornerstone of Wisconsin’s economic recovery.”

A copy of the report is attached, along with a chart outlining the negative effect of the suspension of Wisconsin’s uniform wind siting rule, PSC 128.
