Author Jonah Lehrer offers revelatory insight into the new science of creativity

MADISON—How can we can make our neighborhoods more vibrant, our companies more productive, our schools more effective? By harnessing the new science of creativity. Jonah Lehrer, contributing editor at Wired magazine and the author of How We Decide and Proust Was a Neuroscientist, shares a sparkling and revelatory introduction to the new science of creativity at his free Academy Evening talk on Tuesday, March 27, at 7:00 pm in Promenade Hall, Overture Center for the Arts, Madison.

Entitled Imagine: How Creativity Works, after his new book of the same name, Lehrer’s talk shatters the myth of muses, higher powers, even creative “types.” Lehrer demonstrates that creativity is not a single gift possessed by the lucky few. Rather, it’s a variety of distinct thought processes that we can all learn to use more effectively.

Presented by the Wisconsin Academy with support from Wisconsin Public Radio, this Academy Evening talk is free and open to the public. Join the Wisconsin Academy and Wisconsin Public Radio immediately afterward for refreshments and Meet & Greet with presenter Jonah Lehrer. Copies of his new book will be available for sale before and after the talk, and Lehrer will sign copies at the event following the talk.
