Kelly Arduino of Wipfli LLP appointed co-chair of National Rural Health Association committee

Milwaukee, Wisconsin (March 6, 2012) — Kelly Arduino, Health Care Director of Financial Advisory Services with Wipfli LLP, has been appointed the co-chair of the Capital Options Committee, a new committee created by the National Rural Health Association (NRHA).

The NRHA, an organization with a membership of over 25,000 members that represents the interests of over 73 million Americans living in rural areas, recognized the difficulties that health care organizations are having with accessing capital. The committee was established to address such concerns – its mission is to improve access to capital for rural healthcare infrastructure.

“The Capital Options Committee members recognize that lending has changed significantly since the credit crisis, and we want to make sure that rural health care organizations get factual information in an easy to understand format from a source that has no stake in the financing option that an organization chooses,” said Arduino.

Information on lending options generally comes from bankers or “financiers” that have knowledge of only some of the lending options available and may have biases toward certain options. The committee will act as a resource to NRHA members to help them understand all the options available before making the financing decision. They will also provide proactive education to the association’s members to make them aware of the process and the options.

With over 18 years of experience, Arduino is a director of financial advisory services for health care organizations at Wipfli LLP. In her role, she acts as an unbiased financial advisor for clients including critical access hospitals, independent community hospitals, and senior living facilities. As a former health care investment banker, Arduino has completed numerous health care debt transactions. She uses her “insider” knowledge to ensure that clients are balancing future operational flexibility with cost of capital and paying market rates to secure that capital. In addition, she is knowledgeable about various financing options ranging from public bond offerings to government loan programs (e.g., HUD, USDA) and considers all options for client suitability. Arduino holds an MBA in finance and in management and strategy from the Kellogg School of Management. She also holds a master’s degree in counseling psychology from Loyola University and a bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University in organizational development.
