Janesville – The University of Wisconsin-Rock County will host another program in its College Success Series for high school students and their parents on Thursday, March 15, from 6 to 8 p.m. The free program “After the FAFSA and Money 411” will be held in the Hyatt Smith Hall Commons Meeting Room on the campus at 2909 Kellogg Ave.

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is the key for prospective college students to find out their eligibility for grants, federal student loans and Federal Work-Study. Filling out the form can be a little complicated, but understanding what happens next can also leave students confused. Representatives from UW-Rock County and Great Lakes Higher Education will help participants get the facts on what to expect after submitting the FAFSA, including how to make corrections to it, what the award letter means and how students actually receive the funds. In addition, tips for understanding financial matters now will be presented that can help students avoid money problems when they go off to college.

To register for the program, contact the UW-Rock County Office of Continuing Education at (608) 758-6565 ext. 360.
