UW-Platteville Online: Signs new credit pact with UC-Irvine Extension

Platteville, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville and its Distance Learning Center (http://www.GoUWP.com) have reached a credit transfer agreement with the University of California’s Irvine Extension (UCI). The partnership gives UC students the opportunity to turn certificate coursework into credits to put toward UW-Platteville’s online Master of Science in Organizational Change Leadership (MSOCL) program.

“For many students the next step on their educational journey is to leverage certificates they earn toward a graduate degree. These partnerships provide a perfect way to do that, said Elizabeth Lucas, coordinator of UW-Platteville’s master’s program in organizational change leadership. “This is also fantastic chance for our students to gain deeper insight into the field through the eyes of others.”

Under the unique credit transfer agreement, coursework for the Organizational Change Leadership and Communication Certificate at UC-Irvine Extension equals nine graduate credits in UW-Platteville’s MSOSCL program when students meet certain criteria. The same agreement applies to students at UC-Riverside Extension who hold an Organizational Change Leadership and Development Certificate.

For example, a student who earns a specified certificate at either of the UC extensions can then apply up to nine credits, about three full-time courses, to UW-Platteville’s MSOCL program. UW-Platteville-primarily through its online programs-manages similar credit partnerships nationwide.

UW-Platteville’s integrated online MSOCL program focuses on the ever-increasing speed of change in today’s business world and prepares students for lead roles as change managers or consultants. The university provides eight degrees entirely online: master’s degrees in organizational change leadership, project management, criminal justice, engineering, distance educational leadership and integrated supply chain management along with bachelor’s degrees in business administration and criminal justice.
