MADISON – The World Road Association recently named University of Wisconsin-Madison professor Teresa M. Adams to its Freight Transport Committee.

This committee will examine issues of urban and interurban freight management and investigate the use of different freight modes on their own and in combination. Adams will collaborate with researchers globally to identify and disseminate best practices in road and intermodal freight transportation.

“International cooperation is necessary to cope with the current challenges of global freight transportation,” says Adams.

Adams is a professor of civil and environmental engineering and director of the National Center for Freight and Infrastructure Research and Education at UW-Madison. Her work focuses on multimodal freight and infrastructure asset management, cost-benefit analysis of transportation projects, and resiliency.
