– William Banholzer, executive vice president and chief technology officer of Dow Chemical. Banholzer sets the vision for science and technology at Dow. Under his leadership, the value of Dow’s innovation pipeline has tripled from $10 billion to more than $32 billion. Banholzer has more than 25 years of industrial experience and was elected to the U.S. National Academy of Engineering in 2002. Expert on energy technologies. Presentation topic: Possible vs. Practical in the Quest for Sustainability.
– Gregory Jaczko, former chairman of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Throughout his tenure at the NRC, Jaczko focused on it being a decisive safety regulator with the confidence of the public. Jaczko, who earned his doctorate in particle physics at UW-Madison, focused on the safety of existing nuclear reactors and radioactive materials, implementing a predictable safety review process for license applications, ensuring the agency conducts thorough environmental reviews, and promoting strong enforcement and accountability. He led agency efforts to respond to the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant accident and championed initiatives to strengthen the safety and security of nuclear power plants and radioactive materials. – Dr. Jeff Thompson, chief executive officer at Gundersen Lutheran Health System. Board certified in pediatric critical care, neonatal and perinatal medicine and pediatrics, Thompson is a founding member and past board chair of the Wisconsin Collaborative for Healthcare Quality. Presentation topic: How sustainability is part of Gundersen Lutheran Health System’s mission to the community.
