St. Mary Central: Announces change to commencement ceremony time

NEENAH: St. Mary Central High School’s Commencement Ceremony will take place on Tuesday, June 5 at 8:00 p.m. in the McClone Gymnasium instead of at 7:00 p.m. The change is due to a potential conflict for the boys varsity baseball team and sectional finals.

“This time change allows our student athletes and their families the opportunity to attend and participate in both graduation and the sectional finals game. We are also very appreciative that the other schools and the WIAA worked with us to change game times,” stated Mr. Patrick Batey, SMC Principal. “Our students have worked so hard to experience the joy of graduation and post season play. We are very proud of them and wanted to make sure that they were able to attend both the game and their commencement.”

The day will begin with a Baccalaureate Mass celebrated by the Most Reverend Bishop Morneau at 9:00 a.m. at St. Mary Central High School. The boys varsity baseball team will then proceed to Stevens Point for the sectional games. The team will be able to return in time for the commencement ceremony at 8:00 p.m.

St. Mary Central, a regional Catholic high school, is part of Twin City Catholic Educational System (TCCES). The system also includes St. Margaret Mary and St. Gabriel Elementary Schools in Neenah, as well as St. Mary Elementary and Seton Catholic Middle School in Menasha.
