New format offers more opportunity for interaction with attendees

NEW NORTH – New North, Inc., has announced the three speakers for the 9th annual New North Summit, scheduled for Friday, December 7, at the Radisson Hotel and Conference Center in Appleton. Sponsored by BMO Harris, this year’s New North Summit will feature Daniel Ariens, president and CEO of Ariens Company; Melanie Holmes, vice president, World of Work Solutions, ManpowerGroup; and Christine Mau, design director, Global Family Care Brands at Kimberly-Clark.

“We are incorporating a new format for our speakers this year,” says Jerry Murphy, executive director of the New North, Inc. “Each speaker will facilitate a discussion centered around the theme of innovation.”

Daniel Ariens is president and CEO of Ariens Company, the Brillion-based company founded by his great-grandfather. Since becoming president and CEO in 1998, he’s led several strategic acquisitions, creating a family of consumer and commercial equipment brands. Ariens’ leadership at the company is defined by a set of five core values and 15 management principles. He is a proponent of Lean manufacturing standards, and Ariens maintains a recognized culture of continuous improvement. He also is active in the Wisconsin business community.

Melanie Holmes is vice president, World of Work Solutions for Milwaukee-based ManpowerGroup. An international expert on all things work related, she advances Manpower Group’s position as a thought leader in the contemporary world of work. Homes has been with ManpowerGroup for more than 30 years, and currently works at building the firm’s strategic relationships with government, universities and other leadership organizations.

Christine Mau is global design director, family care brands at Kimberly-Clark. In this role, she leads the development of the Kimberly-Clark brand expressions that guide product innovation, packaging and consumer communication across all channels. She has been named one of Advertising Age’s 25 Women to Watch and is a trend forecasting panelist for Global Color Research.

The annual full-day event also will highlight innovative processes, products and people in the New North region. The agenda for the day will feature several breakout sessions relating to New North initiatives. A full agenda will be available at http://www.newnorthsummit.com as the program develops. During the event, New North, Inc., also will present an annual overview and goals for the coming year during the event, as well as preview upcoming regional guides.
