Thousands of Job Openings Available

MILWAUKEE – Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele is announcing a jobs fair for Military Veterans on Friday, October 5, 2012, 9am – 1pm.

Forty-two business including Aurora Health Care, Coca-Cola, Miller Coors and Marcus Hotels and Resorts will be at the job fair interviewing and hiring Vets. In addition, a “virtual employer” table will contain job announcements of employers unable to attend the event. These employers have more than 1,500 vacancies to fill.

The jobs fair is put on by the Milwaukee County Veterans Service Office (MCVSO), the Zablocki VA Medical Center and local representatives of WI DWD Office of Veterans Employment Services. It will be held in the auditorium of the Zablocki VA Medical Center.

“In a time when jobs are hard to come by, it’s encouraging to see our local veterans groups working so hard to help others find work,” Abele said. “I also want to thank the businesses that are so strongly supporting our veterans in such an important way.”

A similar jobs fair put on by the MCVSO in March drew 650 veterans.
