FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Madison, October 15, 2012) – With an eye to the future, Madison MAGNET and the Greater Madison Chamber of Commerce have announced an affiliation. While the two groups will continue to operate independently, this agreement establishes a relationship that will bring together current and emerging leaders in the area to learn from each other and, help make our region an even better place to live, work and play.
“MAGNET is excited to be affiliating with the Greater Madison Chamber of Commerce,” says Steve Ramig, board president of Madison MAGNET. “For the past 8 years, we’ve been proud to offer our hundreds of members events and activities meant to enrich their personal and professional lives and help them find their places in the city.
“This affiliation means our members can look forward to an expanded palette of events and activities and greater access to the community’s movers and shakers,” he adds. “And it will mean Chamber members have the opportunity to help shape and grow Madison’s future leaders firsthand.”
MAGNET, founded in 2004 to unite talented young professionals from Madison and surrounding areas, focuses on five development areas: social and cultural, community involvement, entrepreneurialism, professional development, and public policy. The Chamber is a strong voice of business. With its network of 1,400 diverse business and nonprofit members, it supports and advocates for enlightened economic growth.
“This affiliation comes at a new beginning for greater Madison, a new vision in Advance Now, for what the region could be as a lead player in economic development,” says Jennifer Alexander, president of the Greater Madison Chamber of Commerce. “To affect this change, we need leadership and people who are vested in shaping our future. This affiliation unites two groups of leaders who are stronger together and therefore integral to our success as a community.”
