Oregon, WI- (Sunday, May 6, 2012)- Today’s season opener at Madison International Speedway featuring the fourth annual Joe Shear Classic and the ASA Midwest Tour Super Late Models and Madison Late Models has been rained out.
The entire event is rescheduled for Saturday, May 12th following the original schedule of events. Qualifying will begin at 1:10 PM with opening ceremonies and racing to follow.
Heavy rains at the speedway in the morning and forecast for more rain and storms throughout the day forced track officials to make the decision to postpone the events.
“Everyone has put so much time in getting their cars ready to race and getting it to the track. But there are some things we can’t control and today the weather just isn’t going to cooperate,” said MIS General Manager Dave Grueneberg.
