Madison College: Offers government contracting training

Is your business aware of the opportunity to expand sales by contracting with the federal government? Madison Area Technical College is hosting a seminar that will help area businesses learn how to effectively compete for contracts to sell their products and/or services to the federal government and how to locate opportunities via the web at a training seminar to be held on Thursday, January 18, 2012 at the Madison College West Campus, 302 S. Gammon Road, Madison, WI. The training will be conducted by the Business Procurement Assistance Center (BPAC) of Madison College.

“Getting Started in Federal Contracting” will be held in the morning from 9:00-11:30am on January 18, 2012. This entry-level seminar provides a solid orientation to the federal contracting environment for those new to the market. Attendees will learn how to register with the federal government, identify which agencies buy what products and/or services and how to locate agency websites for marketing opportunities.

“Finding Federal Opportunities – Computer Lab” will be held in the afternoon on January 18, 2012 from 1:00-4:00pm. The first half of the training will be devoted to providing tips and techniques on how to search the Internet and government websites. During the second half of the workshop, go online to locate government contracting opportunities targeted to your business. Some topics include, where government agencies advertise for the products and services they need, and which agencies buy what products and/or services.
