House of Hope Kicks Off Third Annual Touchdowns for Hope Event
GREEN BAY, WI — Greg and Nicole Jennings have again joined forces with Green Bay’s House of Hope to kick off the 3rd annual Touchdowns for Hope Gala. Their generosity and dedication continue to bring hope to young mothers in the Green Bay area. Beginning with the start of the regular 2012-2013 season, whenever Greg Jennings scores a touchdown, Green Bay Packer fans will not only be cheering for game points. That’s because the Greg Jennings Foundation will donate $1,000 to House of Hope for every touchdown Greg scores during the regular season.
House of Hope is a Brown County family shelter, which provides programming and support services to homeless, pregnant and parenting mothers, 18-24 years of age, and their children. House of Hope assists them in making life changes that are beneficial to themselves as well as their children.
“The Jennings have allowed House of Hope to continue to provide shelter and resources to young mothers in the Green Bay area,” said Judy Howald, House of Hope Advisory Board Chair. “Money raised over the past two years has allowed House of Hope to purchase a van and make necessary improvements to the building, all while, serving more than 100 families in the past 2 years.”
House of Hope’s mission is really what drew the Greg Jennings Foundation to create this partnership. “Growing up, my mother and I had a period in life where we had to lean on a facility similar to House of Hope for food and shelter. This experience made a positive and memorable impact on my life, and I believe it is important to do the same for other women and children that may have that same need,” said Nicole Jennings, Greg’s wife.
The bar was set high last year, with more than $80,000 raised, and it’s set even higher this year. Touchdowns for Hope organizers want to create a memorable evening for guests and make sure as much as possible is raised for House of Hope. The live auction again will prove to be a highlight of the evening with a wealth of items to bid on including: Signed Packers jerseys, vacation trips, and much more. New this year is the addition of a DJ and dance, sponsored by The Music Caterer.
“Our team is very excited to be able to donate our strategic, creative and PR talents to these two wonderful organizations, and to such a great cause like Touchdowns for Hope,” said Stacy Richards, President at burnham richards. The Touchdowns for Hope logo, event invite and postcard were all created by burnham richards. Other area businesses that are also donating their services are: Independent Printing, Schreiber Foods, Haven Salon, The Cupcake Couture, Designs of the Interior, to name a few. The Touchdowns for Hope planning committee is also grateful for their title sponsor, ST Paper, LLC. Touchdowns for Hope will kick-off at Oneida Country Club on Friday, Sept. 7 at 6:00 pm. (Cocktail attire suggested.) There will be silent and live auctions along with raffles.
