Madison (June 11, 2012) – With the divisive recall election behind him, Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker told thousands of small business owners that his focus remains jobs and creating a better climate for small businesses.
“The Governor made it clear that creating a better environment for small businesses will be his top priority for the next two years,” said Bill G. Smith, State Director for the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB).
Walker was the guest today on a statewide town hall teleforum for small business owners hosted by NFIB. More than 3,000 members dialed in for the Governor’s briefing and he fielded questions on a number of issues.
“The Governor has always been very open to our members and he’s made small business the centerpiece of his economic growth agenda,” said Smith. “It’s significant that he reached out to us so soon after a grueling political contest and we’re very appreciative.”
Smith said that his members are pleased by the outcome of the election. NFIB strongly backed Walker and Lt. Governor Rebecca Kleefisch because of their commitment to policies that help small businesses.
“The reforms that he put into place have already improved the landscape for small businesses and we’re looking forward to working with the Governor over the next two years to make Wisconsin one of the best places for small business in America.”
