“Power2Give” Aims to Help Individuals, Organizations Thrive Despite Difficult Economic Times
Individuals or organizations seeking funding for local arts and culture projects are invited to learn more about how to post projects on a new online giving platform through the Dane County Cultural Affairs Commission’s Dane Arts program.
The new program, Power2Give.org, will be the county’s newest fundraising tool to connect local artists and arts presenters with private funders interested in bringing the projects to life.
“Power2Give is another exciting way for the public and private sectors to partner to enhance the arts,” said Parisi. “By connecting the public with the projects they are most passionate about, we are ensuring the long-term strength of our local arts and culture economy and helping to enrich our county.”
The Dane County Power2Give site will launch later this summer and the Dane County Cultural Affairs Commission is looking for local projects interested in being eligible for funding assistance.
Individuals or organizations interested in posting their projects can learn more about the process at a community preview of the program on Thursday, March 29th from 4:30pm to 6:00pm at The Old Fashioned on the Capitol Square. (Presentation begins at 5pm.) No RSVP required is required and the meeting is open to all.
Interactive workshops also will be offered in late April through the Dane Arts program for those interested in learning more details about posting their projects for the summer program launch. Since it’s introduction late last summer, Power2Give already has helped several other communities across the nation bring attention to worthwhile arts and culture projects despite declining funding caused by difficult economic times. The Power2Give site includes detailed descriptions of the projects, with fundraising goals and amounts raised to date, as well as breakdowns of how the donated funds will be spent.
