Cross Plains Chamber: Preparing for annual chicken barbecue

CONTACTS: Amy Hansen, CPACC (608-843-3166)

The Cross Plains Area Chamber of Commerce (CPACC) is busy preparing for its annual Chicken Barbecue to be held at the American Legion Park on Monday, May 28 (Memorial Day). This wonderful community event, sponsored by CPACC, attended by over 1000 people, is a great way to kick off the start of summer. About 100 volunteers are needed to put on this event, so please contact Amy Hansen (amy.cpchamber@yahoo.com) if you are able to help!

The parade, organized by the American Legion Post 245, will begin at 11 a.m. with a memorial service immediately following. Food sales (chicken dinners and hot dog stand) and the opening of the beer tent will commence at the conclusion of the memorial service at American Legion Post 245. A DJ will play from 12:30 – 4:30 p.m., and the kid’s activities will be available to entertain both young and old from noon to 2:00 p.m. CPACC will also accept monetary donations to support local food pantries. A pie and ice cream sale sponsored by the swim team will also be held on site.

The Cross Plains Area Chamber of Commerce encourages you to bring the whole family for a fun and relaxing day.
