Bay Area Humane Society: Send dogs home for the holidays

The Bay Area Humane Society is giving shelter dogs something to be thankful for. Home 4 Holidays is a new program the Bay Area Humane Society is offering throughout this holiday season. Home 4 Holidays allows staff, foster families and volunteers to bring home an adoptable adult dog over the holidays to spend time with a real family, and give them a break from the shelter.

Home 4 Holidays kicked off over Thanksgiving and six adult dogs were able to get a break from the noise and bustle of the shelter and spend a few days in a real home with a family. Fortunately, two connections were made; Baxter and Barley were adopted and given forever homes. Both adoptions were made by foster families of the humane society.

While not all six dogs were adopted, there’s still no better gift you can give a shelter dog than a loving home for the holidays. Home 4 Holidays will begin again on December 19th and run through January 2nd. Home 4 Holidays is open to all staff, foster families and volunteers of the Bay Area Humane Society. There’s no reason anyone should spend the holidays alone, so if interested in becoming a foster family or volunteer you can get more information at BAHS website or you can contact the Foster & Facilities Coordinator at 920-469-3110 ext. 104 or email tania@bayareahumanesociety.com.
