Green Bay, WI – The Bay Area Humane Society reached the 1,248 adoption goal set by the ASPCA’s $100K Challenge. The achievement guarantees The Humane Society will receive a minimum of $5,000 and is still in the running to receive up to $100,000.

“The Bay Area Humane Society is one of only 100 shelters to make it to the final round of the challenge. The community support has been outstanding and exceeded our expectations!” explains Stephen Heave, Executive Director. “In the past three months, we have adopted out 300 more animals than in the same three months in 2011. This means we have earned the $5,000 prize. If we have the highest percent increase of any of the other ten shelters in our division, we will win $20,000, and if we have the highest percent increase of the 100 shelters, we will win the full $100,000.”

All adoptions before close of business on Oct. 31 count toward the challenge. Final Challenge results will be posted in mid-November.
