MILWAUKEE — Today U.S. Senate candidate Tammy Baldwin visited Broadwind Energy Inc. in Manitowoc where she toured the company’s wind turbine tower manufacturing facility. Broadwin Energy’s wind turbine tower manufacturing facility employs 300 people and is one of the largest employers in Manitowoc. It is the leading producer of multi-megawatt wind turbine towers and is the first company in the U.S. to manufacture 100-meter towers.

Baldwin highlighted her commitment to investing in Wisconsin’s clean energy economy. In Congress, Baldwin has a strong record of supporting investments in technology and innovation to spur job creation and drive local economies. “In order to strengthen our manufacturing economy and create jobs we need to invest in clean energy technology and innocation,” said Baldwin, “Broadwind is a perfect example of how we can build a “Made in Wisconsin” economy that creates jobs and restores economic security for middle class families.”

Baldwin has also led a bipartisan fight, to take on China’s cheating and worked with Congressman Reid Ribble to pass bipartisan legislation to level the playing field for Wisconsin workers and strengthen our manufacturing economy.
