Wisconsin’s most important statewide conference of
people, organizations, businesses and communities involved
in the arts, arts education and creative economy

Wisconsinites from the worlds of the arts, business, education, civic issues, politics, and government will meet and rally with Wisconsin’s political leadership at Arts Day 2013, taking place on Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at The Concourse Hotel and the State Capitol in downtown Madison.

Wisconsin’s bountiful and creative human, social and civic assets will lead the state to be a national and global leader in 21st century jobs, business, education, and quality of life. Now is the time for Wisconsin to put creativity to work. Investment in Wisconsin’s creative infrastructure is all about investment in good jobs, 21st century education, engaged residents, and livable communities, and is directly tied to helping the state and all of its communities thrive.

Arts Day 2013, produced by Arts Wisconsin, Wisconsin’s community cultural development organization, features:
The annual Arts Legislative Breakfast, 8:30-10:30 am, at The Concourse Hotel

Speakers, panels and workshops on creative placemaking, arts and creative business incubator development, arts and cultural tourism, arts and creativity in education, and more

The Rabin Youth Arts Awards presented by the Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestras

Constituent meetings with legislators and administration officials, throughout the day

Performances, exhibits and art-making with Wisconsin artists and performers, throughout the day.

“Wisconsin’s diverse and active arts industry will come together on Arts Day 2013 to demonstrate the power and value of the arts and creativity to the state’s future,” says Debra Karp, Arts Wisconsin Board President. “Arts Day will shine a spotlight on Wisconsin’s amazing arts sector and great opportunities ahead in creative business development, education for the 21st century, civic engagement and community vitality. Expanding participation and investment in the arts, education, and creative economy is key to growth and success for Wisconsin, its people and its communities.”
