AECOM Technology Corporation: Schlitz Park signs lease with AECOM for 21,000 square feet

Global Design, Engineering & Technical Support Services Firm Consolidates Milwaukee Offices

Milwaukee, January 16, 2012 — AECOM Technology Corporation, a leading provider of professional technical and management support services for government and commercial clients around the world, has signed a lease for more than 21,000 square feet of space in the second floor of Schlitz Park’s RiverCenter building. AECOM will consolidate its two Milwaukee locations and move nearly 90 employees to Schlitz Park July 1.

AECOM is the third new tenant Schlitz Park has attracted since developers of the 46-acre downtown river front office community announced plans for a $30 million renovation. The firm is a Fortune 500 company that serves clients in approximately 130 countries and had revenues of $8.0 billion during its fiscal year 2011. AECOM was ranked number one overall in Engineering News Record’s 2011 list of Top 500 Design Firms.

“AECOM is a global leader in understanding the value of space and place. They are a perfect fit for Schlitz Park,” said Gary Grunau, Schlitz Park co-owner and developer. “Their dedicated professionals work to create, enhance and sustain the world’s built, natural and social environments. This is exactly the type of talent and company that the renovated Schlitz Park is designed to attract and retain in downtown Milwaukee.”

AECOM has more than 350 employees in Wisconsin at seven locations including its current Milwaukee offices at 1020 N Broadway and 11425 W Lake Park Drive.

“The move to one downtown office on a single floor will make collaborative brainstorming and creativity, which have always been key elements of our work style, much easier. A single location also enhances client convenience and service by bringing together our technical expertise,” said Paul Tarvin, vice president, AECOM. “For our employees, Schlitz Park’s RiverCenter provides open, flexible workspaces with river views, inviting common areas and many amenities on site and nearby. The office park’s renovation plans were particularly appealing.”

Schlitz Park recently began remodeling 350,000 square feet of office space and will add amenities including a new fitness center and conference areas in the RiverCenter. Developers plan to pursue US Green Building Council LEED EB (Existing Building) certification for all renovated Schlitz Park buildings. Additional plans call for new parks, trails and green spaces.

RFP Commercial, Inc.’s Jim Cavanaugh, representing Schlitz Park, and CBRE’s William Bonifas, representing AECOM, negotiated the AECOM RiverCenter lease. The signing brings the 460,000 square-foot, three-story building’s occupancy rate to just over 90 percent leased.

More than 4,200 employees work in Schlitz Park (www.schlitzpark.com) home to major Milwaukee businesses including ManpowerGroup and Time Warner, and other companies and organizations providing financial services, health care, employment, education, technical and other important services. Schlitz Park includes 1.5 million square feet of commercial office space, free Wi-Fi in all indoor and outdoor common areas, green space and plazas, plentiful free parking with preferred spaces for hybrid vehicles, and safe and secure bicycle parking. Schlitz Park is owned and managed by The Brewery Works, Inc., the organization formed by the families that purchased the Schlitz Park property in 1983.
