WPPI Energy announced today that it has reached an agreement with a subsidiary of NextEra Energy Resources, LLC for the purchase of approximately 162 megawatts (MW) of electric power output from the Point Beach Nuclear Plant.
The Point Beach facility, which is located along Lake Michigan near the WPPI Energy member community of Two Rivers, Wis., is a two-unit nuclear plant with a current total capacity of approximately 1,023 MW.
