WHITEWATER, Wis. – Paul Jadin, CEO of the Wisconsin Economic Development Corp., and Scott Baumbach, secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development, will be among those sharing insights on emerging technologies and trends at the 4th Annual Wisconsin Science & Technology Symposium, to be held Thursday and Friday at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater’s Hyland Hall.

The event is expected to bring together some 150 attendees including science and technology researchers, health care leaders and representatives from the public sector and industry. The symposium will showcase cutting-edge research in biofuel production, fuel cell development, medical devices, nanotechnology and pharmaceuticals from the University of Wisconsin System, industry and clinical organizations including Aurora Health Care, BayCare Clinic and Marshfield Clinic.

Additional highlights include an introduction to a new online tool that teaches the basics of entrepreneurship and startups, as well as presentations by Wisconsin companies developing innovative products with UW campuses. The symposium offers an opportunity for companies to connect with UW System faculty through WiSys-funded programs.

The two-day event is being organized by UW-Whitewater and WiSys Technology Foundation. WiSys is leading a statewide effort to bring together UW faculty as well as clinical and corporate researchers for joint technology development and economic growth.
