MILWAUKEE — Today, Wired Wisconsin launched its new Legislative Directory, an online resource for those looking to contact their state legislators through email and social networking sites.
“As email and social networking sites play an increasing role in how constituents interact with their representatives, we recognize the importance of creating a comprehensive online directory for Wisconsinites,” says Thad Nation, Executive Director for Wired Wisconsin.
Included in the directory are the official governmental email addresses for all State Assembly members and State Senators, as well as links to their legislative websites, Facebook pages and Twitter accounts, if available.
“We hope that the Legislative Directory will be a one-stop resource for Wisconsinites to use to engage their representatives and talk to them about the important issues facing our state,” says Nation.
Last fall, Wired Wisconsin compiled a directory, “2010 Wisconsin Politics and the Web,” which showed how Wisconsin political candidates used social media in their campaigns. This directory follows up, showing how the elected officials in Madison are using online tools to interact with their constituents.
