Madison’s ADDY Awards winners were announced Friday, February 25 at a gala event held at the Orpheum Theater on State Street. Suttle-Straus earned silver recognition in the Advertising Industry Self-Promotion category for their “Giving Thanks” direct mail piece. This is the fourth year in a row that Suttle-Straus has won an ADDY in this category.
Other entries that were produced by Suttle-Straus also received 3 silver, 1gold and a Judges Choice ADDY award during the evening. These award-winning pieces for clients were received for catalogs, collateral materials, annual reports and direct campaign.
“The Suttle-Straus creative department has done brilliant work that has not only caught the attention of the ADDY’s but also earned recognition and kudos from our clients. Our creative department will continue to grow and produce exceptional work as the demand for client work increases,” said Suttle-Straus President, John Berthelsen.
The Giving Thanks direct mail piece was mailed to Suttle-Straus clients at Thanksgiving time in appreciation of their business. The piece invited clients to choose a charity and subsequent donation
would be made by Suttle-Straus. This was a multi-channel campaign featuring direct mail, a personalized microsite and e-mail follow up. The Personalized URLs (PURLs) printed on the direct mail piece allowed clients to log on to a micro-site personalized for them, and allowing them to make an individual charity selection. Suttle-Straus had an overwhelming response to the campaign with 36% of clients logging on to the site and participating.
The ADDY Awards is the advertising industry’s largest and most representative competition, attracting over 50,000 entries every year in local ADDY competitions. The mission of the ADDY competition is to recognize and reward creative excellence in the art of advertising. Selection of the most creative entry in each category is effected by a scoring process in which a panel of judges evaluates all creative dimensions of every entry.
