Vilas County had the highest rate in March at 13.5%, followed by Menominee at 13.2%, Door at 13.2%, and Rusk at 12.8%.

The preliminary (seasonally adjusted) unemployment rate for Wisconsin in March was estimated at 7.4%, which is same rate as January and February but lower than December’s rate of 7.5%. The state’s seasonally adjusted rate was 9.0% one year ago.

The preliminary unemployment rate in the U.S. in March was estimated at 8.8% which is February’s rate of 8.9% and January’s rate of 9.0%. One year ago the U.S. rate was estimated at 9.7%.
