C. Willi Myles, called ‘America’s everyday comedian’, will provide the entertainment at St. Croix EDC’s Business of the Year banquet on Thursday, February 17th at the R&D Banquet Hall just south of New Richmond, Wisconsin.

Myles takes everyday life challenges and applies humor to them. Banquet attendees are assured of laughs and a unique look at midwest living from Myles, who was born and raised in Mobile, Alabama. His non-offensive stories and jokes have been heard by audiences in 49 states and three countries. Myles has performed for The Temptations, O’Jays, Fleetwood Mac, Bill Cosby, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Dennis Miller, Toby Keith, and Bonnie Raitt. He has been featured locally and nationally on the Fox Network, Comedy Central, and Showtime at the Apollo.

Myles provided the entertainment at last year’s EDC banquet and his 45-minute set on the weather in the midwest had the audience howling. “We truly enjoyed Willi’s routine last year and he was at the top of our list for entertainment in 2011,” said William Rubin, the EDC’s executive director. “His humor will be a fitting ending to the evening’s events.”

Earlier this month, the EDC announced its top businesses for 2010. They include Engineered Propulsion Systems (New Richmond) as Emerging Business of the Year, GaMra Composites (Hudson) as Small Business of the Year, and Valley Cartage (Hudson) as the Business of the Year (large category). John D. Soderberg of New Richmond is the recipient of the EDC Director’s Award.

The event is open to the public but reservations are required. They can be made by contacting Jacki Bradham of St. Croix EDC at (715) 381-4383 or jacki@stcroixedc.com. An invitation and meal selection card are available online at http://www.stcroixedc.com/pdf/10by_invitation-mealcard.pdf.
