MADISON – Commissioner Mark Meyer leaves the Public Service Commission today after more than six years of service, and was thanked for his work on behalf of the state of Wisconsin by his fellow Commissioners and incoming Chairperson Phil Montgomery.

“Mark has a great record of service to Wisconsin and I would like to thank him for his dedication,” said incoming Chairperson Phil Montgomery, whose term begins on Monday. “He has done excellent work here as a Commissioner as well as in the Legislature and I wish him the best in his future endeavors.”

Commissioner Meyer served in the legislature from 1992 to 2004, first the Assembly and then the Senate, representing western Wisconsin. During his legislative career, Commissioner Meyer served on numerous legislative committees including the Energy and Utilities; Transportation and Information Infrastructure; and Economic Development, Job Creation and Housing committees. He was appointed to the Public Service Commission in September 2004.

“It has been an honor to serve on the Public Service Commission and to work with talented, committed colleagues and staff on issues that are fundamental to all of our lives and to the economic condition of Wisconsin,” Commissioner Meyer said.

The Commissioners of the Public Service Commission are appointed by the governor and serve staggered six-year terms. The governor appoints one of the three Commissioners to be the Chairperson for a two-year term.
