The firm launches with a number of clients and wide interest from regional political and advocacy groups. Plans for Marks & Hill have been in development for several months, and in fact, work for clients started last year.
Marks, a veteran of more than 30 years in the communications business, with over 15 years of political consulting, has worked on statewide Wisconsin campaigns and referendums, and has also handled Fortune 1000 brands and communications initiatives. Hill, who has played an instrumental role in the political landscape in Washington, DC, Wisconsin and Minnesota for over 15 years, was most recently District Director for Congressman Dave Obey (Retired Chairman of the House Appropriations Committee), and before that was involved in multiple Minnesota campaign efforts including: Congressman Jim Oberstar, Sen. Paul Wellstone, Clinton/Gore, John Marty for Governor and the Minnesota Coordinated Campaign, as well as work with the Minnesota State Senate. Between them, Marks and Hill have managed and coordinated numerous campaigns and issues management initiatives.
