Janesville–Lt. Governor Rebecca Kleefisch has launched the Small Business Roundtable which will serve as Governor Walker’s sounding board on small business issues and will be tasked with providing input and recommendations to improve the business climate in Wisconsin. Governor Walker’s focus is to catalyze the private sector for job growth, and to create the conditions for small businesses and entrepreneurs to adapt and thrive.

Forward Janesville, Inc. has invited local business owners and leaders to a roundtable discussion with Lieutenant Governor Rebecca Kleefisch, 7:30 a.m. Friday, March 18, at the Holiday Inn Express & Janesville Conference Center, 3100 Wellington Place, Janesville, Wisconsin. They will discuss ways in which the Badger State’s small businesses can move our economy forward and create jobs for Wisconsin workers.

“Small businesses are the engine of our economy in Wisconsin and I’m looking forward to a good discussion about the challenges our small businesses face in this highly challenged economy,” said Lt. Governor Kleefisch. “The input we receive will be vital in resolving the economic challenges they face so we can restore our economy and put our people back to work.”

“Communication between the Governor’s office and our local business leaders is vital,” said Jennie Krajeck, Director of Events and Small Business Services for Forward Janesville. “Governor Walker’s leadership at the state level is essential to helping our business community remain competitive and grow jobs.”

Following the roundtable the Lt. Governor will tour Monterey Mills, 1725 East Delavan Street, Janesville. Monterey Mills is a premier supplier of knitted pile fabric to the paint roller industry. The Company’s emphasis on industrial and applicator fabrics remains strong today. Monterey Mills, founded in 1965, began manufacturing faux fur for the women’s apparel and toy industries, as well as home furnishings such as bedspreads, throws and bath rugs.
