(September 22, 2011): J. F. Ahern Co. was recently named an approved contractor for the City of Milwaukee’s Me2 (Milwaukee Energy Efficiency) program. Me2 pairs affordable financing options with existing Focus on Energy or We Energies incentives and federal tax credits to allow business owners or tenants to pay for efficiency upgrades to their buildings while gaining savings on their energy bill. Me2 also offers no-money-down and interest-rate-buy-down financing. These options are only available by utilizing an approved Me2 contractor, and can be applied to projects ranging from $5,000 to $5 million.

Businesses partnering with Ahern and Me2 will reduce their utility bills through upgrades to energy efficient HVAC equipment, lighting, controls, and water conservation products. Ahern holds expertise in applying energy solutions to many types of facilities and processes in commercial, industrial, and education/municipal industries. The Company is capable of performing 100% of its energy efficiency upgrades around clients’ schedules to prevent operational disruption.

Ahern employs seven times more LEED Accredited Professionals than the next Me2 approved contractor, and also employs two Certified Energy Managers and three Certified Commissioning Process Providers. It is one of few Milwaukee contractors to offer an Energy Worksite Solutions package that monitors energy savings and tracks actual consumption for single or multi-location facilities. Ahern also routinely conducts energy analysis studies throughout greater Milwaukee, and has been a construction partner on 13 LEED-certified or pending projects across the state.

“Ahern is a known leader in sourcing and securing energy incentives through Focus on Energy, Milwaukee Economic Development Council, and now Me2,” commented Sales Director Steve Rohde. “We are very pleased to offer clients another resource to improving their bottom line and environmental responsibility. Me2 is a significant benefit to Milwaukee businesses, and we are excited about the positive impact this program will have on our clients’ ability to reduce energy costs.”
