Gov. Walker: Building Commission approves projects

Madison—Yesterday the State of Wisconsin Building Commission unanimously approved a number of key projects. These projects include, but are not limited to:

· Replacement of state emergency generators and emergency transmission equipment;
· Renovation of Dairy Science Facilities at UW-Madison;
· Replacement of scoreboards at athletic facilities at UW-LaCrosse;
· Restoration of legislative hearing rooms at State Capitol;
· Approval of authority to design and construct new pump stations at the North and South Shore at Devil’s Lake State Park.

“The projects approved today represent important investments in our state,” said Governor Walker. “I am pleased that the Building Commission was able come together to work in a bipartisan fashion.”

The Building Commission is chaired by Governor Walker and includes the following members:

· Vice Chair State Representative Dean Kaufert;
· State Senator Robert Cowles;
· State Senator Dale Schultz;
· State Senator Fred Risser;
· State Representative Joan Ballweg;
· State Representative Gordon Hintz;
· Citizen member Bob Brandherm; and
· A number of other Department of Administration officials
