MADISON – Today Governor Scott Walker released the following statement regarding the action taken by JFC to control property taxes:

“Over the years Wisconsin’s middle class has been hit hard by repeated property taxes increases,” said Governor Walker. “I am thrilled that 12 members of the Joint Finance Committee voted today to protect taxpayers across the state from massive property tax increases in the future. The main goal of the budget I proposed was to balance Wisconsin’s $3.6 billion budget deficit without raising taxes—and the action taken today is an important step in the right direction.”
