Project Will Create 111 Jobs in Osseo

Madison— Governor Scott Walker today announced that Global Finishing Solutions (GFS), Osseo, Trempealeau County, is eligible for up to $600,000 in economic development tax credits to construct and equip an addition to its facility in that community. The project will create 111 new jobs at the company.

“It’s great for Wisconsin to see homegrown companies like Global Finishing Solutions expand and add high quality jobs in our state,” Governor Walker said. “I appreciate the company’s commitment to Wisconsin, and I’m pleased the state was able to play a role in moving this project forward.”

“Global Finishing Solutions is excited about the expansion of our Osseo headquarters and our commitment to create so many quality jobs over the next three years,” said Rick Binder, President of GFS. “After moving an acquired second manufacturing facility from Canada to Mexico several years ago, we have determined that the consolidation of this manufacturing capacity in Osseo will allow us to provide better customer service, higher quality control and increased responsiveness to the markets we serve. The tax credits provided by the State of Wisconsin will help in this consolidation by enabling us to provide extensive training for production staff and assist in covering a portion of the costs of relocating this manufacturing capacity.”

Global Finishing Solutions’ heritage stretches back to 1888. It has been producing paint booths and finishing systems for industrial coating and finishing, automotive body shops, aerospace finishing, and truck and large equipment finishing in the Wisconsin area since 1978. The company’s expansion will consolidate all manufacturing operations at its Osseo headquarters which currently employs nearly 300 workers. The project represents a total investment of $10 million and involves moving 111 positions to the expanded facility, most from its production plant in Monterrey, Mexico.
