Project to create 100 jobs
MADISON—Governor Scott Walker today announced that City Brewing, LLC, La Crosse, La Crosse County, will receive $490,000 in Economic Development Tax Credits from the Department of Commerce (Commerce) for an expansion project.
“Our number-one priority is helping Wisconsin businesses create jobs,” Governor Walker said. “We’re pleased we could help City Brewing, LLC expand and create new jobs for the La Crosse area.”
City Brewing, LLC, headquartered in La Crosse, produces beer at the former G. Heileman Brewery. Production for 2010 is estimated at 3.5 million barrels. It will add a sixth production line and purchase updated equipment to meet demand and reduce utility costs. The project will create 100 jobs and retain 434 jobs. Total project cost is $13 million.
